PhotoFest: Pinedale Basketball Teams Sweep Kemmerer
On Friday, 3A Pinedale played host to 2A Kemmerer to start the 2025 portion of the basketball season. The Pinedale girls will be a team to watch this season thanks to Elyn Bowers who is a three-time All-State selection. She is currently averaging 27 points a game which is 2nd in 3A, making 52% of her shots. Kemmerer found out how tough it is to defend the top shooting team in 3A as they lost 76-33. Pinedale is 6-1 on the year and took 3rd place at the 2024 State Tournament going 22-4. The Wranglers will host the girl's portion of the Winter Classic Tournament starting on Friday.
Kemmerer is 3-5 in the 2A ranks and has a returning All-State player in Janae Skidmore who is averaging 15 points a game. The Rangers qualified for the 2A State Tournament in 2024 as the #2 seed from the west and took 5th place going 1-2.
The Pinedale boys prevailed over Kemmerer on Friday 84-34 thanks to a superlative performance from Alex Gosar. He threw 29 points with 13 rebounds, a dozen steals and 7 blocks. What more can you ask? He plays the guard and forward spots for the Wranglers and is averaging 16 points a game which is 3rd in 3A. Pinedale made it to the State Tournament a year ago and sits at 3-4 so far this season. The Wranglers will be in the Winter Classic in Rawlins starting Friday.
Kemmerer is 2-6 on the year and has a returning All-Conference player in Ethyn Perkins who is averaging 10 points a game while Gabe Wiswell has been throwing in 11 per contest. The Rangers will be in their own tournament later this week. We have a collection of pics from both the boys' and girls' games between Kemmerer and Pinedale, compliments of Karsyn Henn.
