It what was a compelling game to the max, Rawlins won a state title with one key defensive play in the last 3 seconds and they always say, defense wins championships. Douglas had a chance to win trailing by 1 and a number of Bearcat players were certainly capable of hitting a potential game-winner. But Rawlins guard Jarron Mascarenas perfectly read a 40-foot inbounds pass to tip it away as time expired.

Both teams knew the game would be close and Rawlins received a superior effort from Ashton Barto who threw in 17 points and was 5-5 from the free-throw line. Lorenzo Johanson added 10 plus the Outlaws were without the services of Erick Martinez who played in 23 games this season and averaged 3 steals per game. Rawlins capped the year at 23-3.

Douglas trailed by as many as 7 in the game and showed a lot of grit to fight their way back into the game. Nate Halquist led the Cats with 17 and Cameryn Spence chipped in 15.  Douglas wraps things up at 23-4.
