Greybull senior Carlos Rodriguez passed the 1,000-point threshold last weekend with a 31-point performance in the Buffs’ win over Burlington. Rodriguez also grabbed 11 rebounds in the victory. He celebrated his achievement with his grandpa and team after the 57-53 overtime win.

The senior is averaging a double-double this season at 20.1 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. Rodriguez adds 4.2 steals per game. He shoots 47 percent from the field and 75 percent at the stripe. Rodriguez is the fourth-leading scorer and top rebounder in Class 2A as of Jan. 17, 2024.

Carlos was an all-state pick last season and has been an all-conference honoree for three years.

Last year, as a junior, Rodriguez averaged 14.5 points per game and shot 45 percent from the floor. He added nine rebounds and 2.4 steals per game. He helped Greybull to a 13-13 record and a berth in the 2A state basketball tournament.

In the 2022 season, as a sophomore, Rodriguez contributed 14.9 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.3 steals per game. As a freshman, Rodriguez averaged 5.9 points and 5.7 rebounds per game in 2021.
