South Dakota School of Mines sophomore soccer player Gabe Dahmke was the lone Hardrocker to earn Great Northwest Athletic Conference Soccer Academic All-Conference honors.

Dahmke is a 6-foot-1-inch defender for the Hardrocker soccer program currently in its second year of existence.

The Sheridan, Wyo., native also becomes the first ever South Dakota School of Mines scholar-athlete to earn a conference honor at the NCAA Div. II level.

“I’m very proud of Gabe,” said Hardrocker soccer head coach Joe Burger. “He is the first guy to ever earn a Div. II conference honor at South Dakota Mines. It means a lot to him and it means a lot to the Hardrocker soccer team. Gabe is exactly the type of student-athlete we want in our program and at our great institution.”

Dahmke is pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering while attending South Dakota School of Mines.
