One of the 4a match-ups of intrigue last Friday was Sheridan traveling to Rock Springs. Sheridan opened the season with a hard-earned win over Rock Springs while Central lost big to Thunder Basin. After a scoreless, first quarter, Central got on the board first as Dawson McCleary tossed a 9-yard touchdown pass to Andrew Johnson to give the Indians a 7-0 lead.

Sheridan came right back with a touchdown of their own as Garrett Coon got into the end zone from 5 yards to tie the game at 7 and then had a 1-yard plunge for a TD to put the broncs in front 14-7.

In the 3rd quarter, the Sheridan offense went to the air as Jacob Boint found Toby Jacobs for 80 yards and touchdown to make it 21-7 but Central answered that long scoring play with one of their own as McCleary and Johnson connected for the 2nd time, and that play covered 48 yards to cut the gap to 21-14

In the 4th quarter, Garret Coon scored his 3rd touchdown of the game from 5 yards and it was 28-14 Sheridan and that’s the way it stayed a the broncs beat Cheyenne central 28-14. Sheridan will host Natrona this week in a rematch of the last 2 4A state championship games. Central will be on the road this week in Rock Springs.
