Lander’s Mason Morton Inks at Saddleback College for Soccer
Lander senior Mason Morton will continue her athletic career after recently signing at Saddleback College in California. She is an all-state and two-time all-conference selection as a defender for the Tigers. Morton scored three goals and dished out three assists during the 2023 season. Her senior season will be this spring.
Morton helped Lander to the Class 3A state championship in 2021 as a freshman. She was on the runner-up squad in 2022 and helped the Tigers to the 3A state tournament last year.
Outside of the Wyoming High School soccer season, Morton played for the Colorado Rapids ECRL (Elite Club Regional League) squad, where she was a midfielder and will play that position at Saddleback College.
Morton is competing in indoor track during this winter 2024 season.
Saddleback College is in Mission Viejo, CA. They are a junior college program that has enjoyed a lot of success. Saddleback is the two-time Orange Empire Conference Champions. They were the 2022 California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) champions. Saddleback was the 2022 co-National Junior College Champions. In 2023, the Bobcats had a 20-1-1 record and were the 2023 pre-season No. 1 ranked junior college women’s soccer team in the national coaches poll.
