The Casper Oilers have a new manager for the upcoming 2020 American Legion Baseball season. Josh Simms has stepped down, and Tanner Galey will take over.

Simms was Casper’s head coach for the last three seasons. He led the Oilers to the 2019 Class ‘AA’ American Legion Baseball State Championship last August in Gillette. It was their first state title in 23 years. Casper followed that with a 1-2 performance at the Northwest Regional Tournament in Idaho. The Oilers were 36-24 in Simms’ first year in 2017. They went 35-25 in 2018 and finished 46-18-1 last year.

Former player Tanner Galey has been named the new manager. He played for Casper from 2013-15 and was an All-State selection in 2015. Galey played collegiate baseball at Lane Community College in Oregon as a pitcher. He then went to Minot State in North Dakota. Galey also played summer baseball in Moose Jaw, Canada, and most recently, he was with the Casper Horseheads collegiate summer team in 2018.
