It’s back to normal for the high school softball schedule in Week 4. After just one twin bill last week, this week sees every team in the state in action at least once. The 2024 softball season continues with conference play. The fourth and fifth-ranked teams go on the road for two conference games on consecutive days. That also means the second and third-ranked teams are at home for two straight days. The Cheyenne schools face off early in the week, while Wheatland faces two of the Capital City teams this weekend.

TUESDAY, APRIL 2

Final Score: #1 Cheyenne East 11 Cheyenne South 0 (conference game) - Stephenson tossed a no-hitter with 11 Ks and 5 walks. Millar & Luethy had 2 hits each, and Hollibaugh drove in 2 runs.

Final Score: #1 Cheyenne East 15 Cheyenne South 1 - the Thunderbirds scored 11 runs over the first 2 innings. Stephenson had 3 hits including a double & 1 HR & 4 RBIs for East.

Final Score: Natrona County 17 Kelly Walsh 13 (non-conference game) - Fillies trailed 10-6 and scored 6 runs over 2 innings to take the lead for good. A 5-run 5th capped it off. Hartman had 4 hits & 3 RBIs for NC. Randolph had 2 hits (HR) & 4 RBIs. Attaway hit 2 HRs for KW and had 3 RBIs.

Final Score: Natrona County 9 Kelly Walsh 8 (non-conference game) - the Fillies led 9-3 and held off the KW comeback. Gomez had a 3B & HR with 6 RBIs for NC. Hoyt had 3 doubles & 2 RBIs for KW.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 3

Final Score: #1 Cheyenne East 13 Cheyenne Central 2 (conference game) - T-Birds broke it open with 10 runs in the 4th inning. Oswald had 3 hits (2B) & 2 RBIs. Stephenson added 2 hits (2B) & 3 RBIs.

Final Score: #1 Cheyenne East 14 Cheyenne Central 13 - Luethy won the non-conference game with an RBI double with one out in the fifth for East. She had 3 hits & 3 RBIs. Moyte had 3 hits & 3 RBIs in the loss for Central.

THURSDAY, APRIL 4

Final Score: Wheatland 9 Cheyenne Central 8 - 8 inns. (conference game) - moved from Saturday - The Bulldogs won it on Mickelsen's walk-off, game-winning RBI double in the 8th. A. Coates had 3 hits & 5 RBIs for Wheatland.

Final Score: Cheyenne Central 19 Wheatland 12 - moved from Saturday - Central scored 10 runs in the 1st inning and added 7 more in the 2nd. Thomas, Kammerman, & Birt had 2 hits & 3 RBIs each for the Indians.

Final Score: #4 Cody 3 Rock Springs 1 (conference game) - moved from Saturday - Simone allowed only 1 run on 4 hits with 12 Ks. - Game 2 was not played.

FRIDAY, APRIL 5

Final Score: #4 Cody 10 Green River 2 (conference game) - the Fillies led 4-1 and scored 2 runs in each of the last 3 innings. Massey, Brasher, & Reinker had 3 hits & 2 RBIs apiece.

Final Score: #4 Cody 9 Green River 5 - a 5-run 3rd was the difference for the Fillies. Wollschlager hit a grand slam. Kondelis added 1 hit & 3 RBIs for Cody.

Final Score: Rock Springs 5 Worland 2 (conference game) - the Tigers got out to a 5-0 lead and held on. Florencio allowed 2 runs on 7 hits with 12 Ks. Wester had 2 hits & 1 RBI for RS.

Final Score: Rock Springs 7 Worland 2 - a 5-run 2nd was the difference for the Tigers. Anderson had a 2-run HR. Miller added a 2-run 2B.

Final Score: #1 Cheyenne East 13 Wheatland 6 (conference game) - the T-Birds led 8-6 and scored the final 5 runs to pull away. Brooks had 2 hits (HR) & 5 RBIs. Oswald added 4 hits & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: #1 Cheyenne East 8 Wheatland 7 - East led 8-3 and held off a late Wheatland rally. Oswald had 2 hits & 4 RBIs for the T-Birds.

Final Score: #2 Thunder Basin 19 #5 Laramie 8 (conference game) - Rodgers with 2 HRs, 2-2B, & 6 RBIs for the Bolts. Selfors added 4 hits, 2 RBIs, & 4 runs scored.

Final Score: #2 Thunder Basin 12 #5 Laramie 6 - the Bolts hit 3 HRs in 2nd game. Clonch had 3 hits (HR, 2-2B) & 4 RBIs.

Final Score: #3 Campbell County 11 Cheyenne South 1 (conference game) - the Camels scored 7 in the 3rd to break it open. A. Gray had 2 hits & 3 RBIs and struck out 11 in the circle. B. Gray added 4 RBIs.

SATURDAY, APRIL 6

Final Score: #2 Thunder Basin 25 Cheyenne South 2 (conference game)

Final Score: #3 Campbell County 9 #5 Laramie 8 - 8 inns. (conference game) - Alexander hits the game-wining walk-off RBI double for the Camels.

Final Score: #3 Campbell County 16 #5 Laramie 8
