Three state champions from 2021 were on the mats in 2022 and all 3 earned another state title. In 3A, Lane Ewing of Douglas is a three-time state champ following a pin of Pinedale's Wyatt Madole. Ewing won it all at 145 last season and won a title in 2020 at 132. This season, Ewing finished with a record of 3-0 this season. Madole was 44-4. Morgan Hatch of Lyman was 3rd in this group and Star Valley's Ryan Dunne was 4th.

In 2A, Roedy Farrell earned another state title with a pin over Jake Schlattmann of Greybull/Riverside. Farrell won it all last season at 152 and the rodeo star went 24-3 in 2022. Schattmann's record this season was 26-10. The 3rd place guy at 2A 160 was Dakota Nelson of Cokeville with Brandon Jones of Big Piney 4th.

In 4A, well it was interesting. It was a battle of two Casper wrestlers, Kaeden Wilcox of Natrona and Noah Hone of Kelly Walsh, It was a physical and feisty match while it lasted with Hones being disqualified for biting Wilcox's finger and Hone was leading 4-3 in the first period. Tempers were flaring so it was an ugly ending. Wilcox repeats as the 160 pound champion with a record of 38-5. Hones finished up at 25-4. In 3rd place, Terran Grooms of Sheridan, and in 4th, Deyton Johnson of Thunder Basin.

We have some video of all 3 matches at 160 pounds.
