Sundance’s Gunner McLaughlin Celebrates 1,000 Points
Sundance senior Gunner McLaughlin was one of the last players to surpass 1,000 points in his high school career during the 2021-22 season.
McLaughlin reached the milestone on a shot against Glenrock at the 2A East Regional Tournament in Pine Bluffs.
The 6-6 senior averaged 15.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game last season and shot 46 percent from the field. He helped the Sundance Bulldogs to a record of 13-12 and 3-5 in conference games.
McLaughlin was a three-time all-conference selection and an all-state pick in 2021 in Class 2A. He was a four-year letterman and a three-year starter for the Bulldogs.
In his junior season of 2020-21, McLaughlin helped Sundance to a 21-2 record and a third-place finish at the 2A state basketball tournament. He averaged 13.1 points, five rebounds, and one blocked shot per game that season. During his sophomore season in 2019-20, McLaughlin averaged 9.3 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. The Bulldogs placed second in the 2A state tournament.
Congratulations Gunner!
