Roberson and Burr Are The WyoPreps Athletes of the Week 9-3-25 [VIDEO]
A swimmer and a golfer have been chosen as the latest WyoPreps Athletes of the Week. After some terrific performances and nominations, Douglas sophomore Guinevere Roberson and Campbell County junior Jaxon Burr earned the honor for their success in the pool and on the golf course. Roberson enjoyed two big days for the Cats to start the 2025 season, while Burr won a competitive golf invite and led his team to a victory, as well. WyoPreps looked at performances from the competition week of Aug. 25 through Aug. 30 and selected these two student-athletes. Previous weeks are not part of the decision.

Girls’ Winner
Roberson opened her 2025 season with two individual event victories last Friday at the Rawlins Pre-Invite. She placed first in the 200 IM by nearly 14 seconds and followed that with an 11-second win in the 100 backstroke. Roberson also swam on Douglas’ winning 400 freestyle relay. She helped the Bearcats take second in the team standings. Roberson won every individual event at the Dale Ross Pentathlon last Saturday in Rawlins. She swam a state-qualifying time in each race, as well. Roberson’s performance helped Douglas win the pentathlon with 196 team points.
WyoPreps chatted with Guinevere about her swimming last weekend. She was pleased with how she started the season and a little surprised to win the pentathlon. Guinevere discussed where she wants to improve, how she helped the team have a successful weekend, and more.
