The two Gillette schools crossed paths on Friday night and in a game of two halves, Campbell owned the first one and Thunder Basin ruled the 2nd one. Campbell County scored first thanks to a 4-yard touchdown reception by Parker Fitzgerald from Mason Drube giving the Camels a 7-0 lead. Drube followed that up with a TD strike to Jeff Pelton to bump the Camel lead to 14-0.

Thunder Basin found the end zone in the 2nd quarter with quarterback Alonso Aguilar scampered in from the 3 to cut the lead in half to 14-7. Campbell County answered as Drube threw his 3rd touchdown pass of the half as Pelton rang up his 2nd scoring catch to make it 21-7. He caught 171 yards worth of balls for the contest. The Camels led at the halftime intermission 24-7.

Thunder Basin flipped the script in the 2nd half as Kayden LaFramboise continued his remarkable season with a 5-yard run to the end zone so just like that, it was 24-14. Nic Black followed that up with an 11-yard run for a score to cut the gap to 24-21. The Bolts were scoring practically at will and finally took the lead in the 3rd quarter on a 1-yard plunge from Dillon Glick so it was 28-24.

The 3rd quarter was great for Thunder Basin and a nightmare for Campbell County. Colton Vetter returned an interception for a touchdown and Black scored his 2nd TD of the game to increase the Bolts' lead to 42-24. Thunder Basin never looked back as they put 55 unanswered points on the board en route to a 62-24 victory. The Bolts had well over 600 yards of offense to improve to 3-3. They'll host Laramie on Friday. The Camels fall to 4-2 and they will be at home on Friday to take on Casper-Natrona.
