Thunder Basin wrestler Dalton McInerney will continue his career on the mat at Colby Community College in Kansas. McInerney finished 2nd at the 4A state tournament at 285 pounds, losing to A.J. Kelly of Rock Springs 7-6. He finished the season with a record of 44-4.

In his junior year, McInerney also finished 2nd at the 4a state meet losing another tough decision, 3-0 to Natrona's Trevon Smith, He ended that season with a record of 22-6. McInerney had it to the semi-final round at 285 at the 4A state championships and ended up taking 3rd with a 3-0 win over Casey Pushchak of Cheyenne Central. He also qualified for the 4A championships as a freshman in 2017, competing for Campbell County.

McInerney was also a 2nd team 4A all-state selection in football on the defensive line.
