Moorcroft enters this week's 2A Girls regional tournaments as a state championship contender. The Wolves defeated Tongue River on Saturday night 54-34 to get to 16-2 overall and 8-0 in conference play. Moorcroft has a dynamic player in Kyanna Petz who has been averaging 13 points a game and poured in 20 in that Tongue River contest. Talissa Fischbach has been averaging 10 points a game and contributed 11 on Saturday night.

Tongue River is 10-8 heading into the regional tournament and they were led in scoring on Saturday night by Izzy Carbert with 12 while Katy Kalasinsku, as well as Addie Pendergast each, had 7.

The 2A Northeast Regional Quad is in Wright and that opening contest is a winner goes to state deal and the loser goes home. Moorcroft will be the #1 seed in that quad and will meet Big Horn at 1:30 on Thursday. Tongue River is the #3 seed and will draw Sundance on Thursday at 3:30.
