Torrington Girls Basketball Seeks Better Results in 2022 [VIDEO]
The Torrington girls’ basketball team is hoping to use a tougher non-conference to prepare them for a better finish in the 2022 high school season.
The Trailblazers are off to a 4-6 start through their first ten games.
That included three losses at the Flaming Gorge Classic in Green River before the holiday break. Torrington fell to 4A opponents Evanston and Green River by eight and seven points, respectively. They also lost to 3A No. 2 Lyman by just five at that same tournament.
Between Christmas and New Year’s, Torrington was 1-2 at the Sidney Holiday Tournament.
The Blazers fell to No. 4 Newcastle last weekend, 48-39.
WyoPreps caught up with two seniors, Mattie Jones and Reece Halley to talk about their season, trying to play more to their potential, areas to improve, the dynamic on the team, some fun things about road trips, and more. That’s all in the video at the top of this story.
The Blazers made the state tournament last season but went 0-2. They’d like to have a better showing in 2022.
Torrington plays at home on Thursday versus Mitchell, NE before a visit to top-ranked Douglas on Saturday in a cross-quadrant match-up.
