Two old rivals met on the gridiron on Friday as Torrington played host to Wheatland at Wiseman Field. Torrington is the defending 2A State Champion and lost to Gering, Nebraska in a week zero game 34-14. The Blazers received a tremendous game back on Friday from sophomore Drew Kramer who recorded 3 touchdowns vs. the Bulldogs.

After a scoreless 1st quarter, Torrington took the lead on an 8-yard run to the end zone from Colby Sandusky so the Blazers led at the intermission 7-0. Then Kramer went to work as he returned a kick-off 88 yards for a touchdown to bump the lead.

Wheatland, who lost their week zero game to Mitchell, Nebraska 53-6 got right back into the game with a 2-yard plunge to the end zone from Jake Hyche so which cut the gap to 14-6. Kramer ran wild for a couple of more scores in the 3rd quarter, one run covered 38 yards and the other was an 18-yard pass to Ryan Moorehouse. The Blazers never looked back and won it 26-6.

Torrington will host the Cheyenne Central JV on Thursday while Wheatland had a huge challenge this Friday with a road game at Big Horn.
