Torrington’s Blake Afdahl Inks with Mesalands C.C. for Rodeo

Torrington's Blake Afdahl has signed a letter of intent to compete in rodeo for Mesalands Community College in Tucumcari, New Mexico. Afdahl, like every other prep rodeo contestant, is waiting for the season to resume due to coronavirus concerns. Right now, he is 6th in the state standings and 17th in the team roping. A year ago, Afdahl finished 8th in the average of the team roping at the National Finals Rodeo.

Afdahl has battled some adversity this year with injuries and an abbreviated prep rodeo season so we'll see how the rest of the event calendar pans out through the early summer. Mesalands Community College competes in the Grand Canyon region of college rodeo and prior to the cancelation of the College Finals, the men's and women's team at Mesaland were 4th in the regional standings.
