
Wyoming High School Track Teams Spread Out for Week 2 Action
The Wyoming prep track and field season rolls along with Week 2 of competition. Several teams make their season debut around the state and region. Six track meets will be in the state. Newcastle opens the weekend of action on Thursday. Burlington, Cody, Glenrock, and Pine Bluffs host events on Friday. Buffalo has six teams coming for a track meet on Saturday.
WYOPREPS WEEK 2 OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD SCHEDULE 2026
Schools will also venture across state lines to the east, south, and west, as they compete in Colorado, Idaho, Nebraska, and Utah. A few schools are on Spring Break this week, and they will not be in action. Here is the Week 2 schedule. It is subject to change.
THURSDAY, MARCH 26:
LAURA CHORD MEMORIAL at Newcastle HS – Hulett, Newcastle, Sundance, Upton; Out-of-State teams = Belle Fourche (SD), Custer (SD), Hill City (SD), Lead-Deadwood (SD).
Girls Team Scores = Custer 150, Hill City 134.50, Sundance 83, Newcastle 76, Belle Fourche 65, Lead-Deadwood 57.50, Upton 44, Hulett 19.
Boys Team Scores = Custer 165, Hill City 134, Newcastle 97.50, Belle Fourche 69, Lead-Deadwood 69, Sundance 51, Upton 27.50, Hulett 20.
Adalyn Olson of Newcastle won the 100 meters, 110 hurdles, and long jump. Sundance won the 4x400 & Sprint Medley relays. For the boys, Adam Butler from Newcastle swept the 2 hurdle races.
Out-of-State events:
MALAD INVITATIONAL at Malad (ID) HS – Star Valley.
Star Valley won both team titles. The girls scored 155.85 points, and the boys scored 153.5.
Emry Kennington swept the 2 throws for the Lady Braves. They won only 3 other events. The Braves won 4 total events.

Alaina Davis from Kaycee won the 100, 200, & 400 meters. Alyssa Good of Shoshoni won the 800 & 1600 meters. Miranda Ford from Kaycee won the 2 hurdle races, plus the pole vault. Greybull's Wyatt Whaley won both throwing events.
For boys: Zavier Clifford from Big Piney won the 100 & 400 meters. Kaycee's Austin Schmitt won the 300 hurdles and high jump.
CODY INVITATIONAL 2026 at Cody HS – Campbell County, Cody, Powell, Thermopolis, Worland.
Girls Team Scores = Powell 157.50, Worland 138, Cody 116, Campbell County 82, Riverton 35.50, Lovell 28, Thermopolis 27.
Boys Team Scores = Cody 154, Powell 112, Thermopolis 106, Riverton 82, Lovell 61, Campbell County 49.50, Worland 40.50.
Cherise Douzenis of Worland won the 200 & 400 meters. Cody's Allison Gee won the high jump & long jump.
Cody's Boston Cronebaugh won the 100 & 200 meters. Gabe Bree won the 800 & 1600 meters. Powell's Braxton Nelson won the high jump & long jump. Lovell's Matthew Newman won the 110 hurdles & triple jump.
HERDER-BISON DUAL at Glenrock HS – Cheyenne South, Glenrock.
Girls Score = Glenrock 79, South 26; Boys Score = Glenrock 79, South 51.
South's Sara Hedlum won the 800 & 1600 meters races for the girls. Glenrock's Malorey Lawrence won the high jump & long jump. Teammate Sheridan Sarvey won the 300 hurdles and discus.
PINE BLUFFS EARLY HORNET at Pine Bluffs HS – Burns, Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Encampment, H.E.M., Laramie, Lusk, Pine Bluffs, Saratoga, Southeast, Wheatland, Wright; Out-of-State teams = Alliance (NE), Chadron (NE).
Girls Team Scores = Chadron 114, Wright 89, Southeast 86, Burns 79, Saratoga 50, Laramie 43, Pine Bluffs 42, Alliance 41, East 30, Wheatland 19, Central 19, Lusk 17, H.E.M. 7.
Boys Team Scores = Burns 140.50, Alliance 110.33, Chadron 90, Saratoga 63.66, Wright 58.66, Pine Bluffs 40.5, Laramie 40, East 39, Lusk 25, Wheatland 21.66, Southeast 13, H.E.M. 8, Encampment 5, Central 4.66.
Mili Meza Perdomo won both hurdle races in the girls' division. Zach Austin of Burns swept the boys' hurdle races.
Out-of-State events:
BINFIELD INVITE at Scottsbluff, NE – Lingle-Ft. Laramie, Torrington.
In the girls' team scores, Torrington was 2nd with 143 points, and Lingle-Ft. Laramie finished 3rd with 70 points. LFL was 3rd in the boys with 52 points, and Torrington came in 4th with 42 points.
Torrington's Natalie Hawes swept the girls' hurdle races. Teammate Kinley Bluemel won both throwing events.
ROOSEVELT POWER MEET at Roosevelt HS in Johnstown, CO – Laramie.
The Laramie girls took 4th with 52 points. Lainey Berryhill won the 200 meters. Kate Lewis swept the discus and shot put. Brynlee Enevoldsen won the pole vault.
The Laramie boys placed 9th with 26 points. Colben Sorenson won the high jump.
STRATA INVITATIONAL at Union HS in Roosevelt, UT – Big Piney.
The Punchers were 7th in the girls' team standings and 5th in the boys. Lizzy Brandt took 2nd in the girls' 800 meters.
UVU HIGH SCHOOL INVITATIONAL at Utah Valley University in Orem, UT – Evanston.
Evanston placed 17th in the girls and 16th in the boys team standings.
SATURDAY, MARCH 28:
JERRY CAMPBELL INVITE at Buffalo HS – Arvada-Clearmont, Big Horn, Buffalo, Douglas, Moorcroft, Sheridan, Thunder Basin, Tongue River.
Girls Team Scores = Sheridan 213.5, Thunder Basin 176, Big Horn 64, Buffalo 63, Douglas 55, Tongue River 18, Moorcroft 18, Arvada-Clearmont 5.5.
Boys Team Scores = Sheridan 210, Thunder Basin 130, Big Horn 88, Douglas 67, Buffalo 63, Tongue River 20, Moorcroft 10.
Sheridan's Leah Lynn won the 100 & 200 meters. Thunder Basin's Ashley Rogge swept the 2 hurdle races. Teammate Lilyann Melton won both of the throwing events. For the boys, the only double-event winner was Garrett Breuer, who won the long jump & triple jump.
Out-of-State events:
BLUE & GOLD INVITATIONAL at Univ. of Northern Colo. in Greeley, CO – Cheyenne East.
Cheyenne East took 2nd in the boys' team standings with 97 points and 6th in the girls' team standings with 57 points. In the girls' division, Taylor Nelson won the high jump for East, Maggie Dixon won the pole vault, and the 4x800 relay was second. For the boys, Aden Zwontizer won the 1600 meters, Davey Ruff captured the 110 hurdles, Cameron Griffin won the high jump, Tevin Rysell won the pole vault, and Derrick Murphy won the triple jump, as part of a 1-2-3 sweep.
MORRILL EARLY BIRD 2026 at Morrill, NE – Guernsey-Sunrise, Lusk.
Lusk was 3rd (77 pts) in the girls' team standings, and Guernsey took 10th (3 pts). Lusk finished 7th (31 pts), and Guernsey was 8th (20 pts) in the boys' team standings.
Maci Lyons of Lusk won the 100 hurdles, 300 hurdles, & 3200 meters. Teammate Marleigh Smith won the high jump.
NIWOT INVITATIONAL at Niwot, CO – Cheyenne Central.
Central tied for 5th in the boys' standings with 33 points and was 11th in the girls' standings with 25 points. Rusty Eilers took 2nd in the discus and shot put. Roman Smith placed 3rd in the pole vault.
TAYLORSVILLE INVITATIONAL at Taylorsville, UT – Evanston, Kemmerer, Lyman, Mountain View.
Girls Team Results = Evanston 12th, Lyman & Kemmerer tied for 25th.
Boys Team Results = Evanston 11th, Mountain View tied for 17th, Kemmerer 25th.
Evanston's Cassie Barker was 2nd in the girls' 100 hurdles. Jayden Rieker was 3rd in the boys' 400 meters. Mountain View's Seamus Hamilton took 2nd in the boys' discus. Evanston's Luca Flores was runner-up in the boys' shot put. Evanston's Cole Brown placed 2nd in the boys' pole vault. Evanston placed 3rd in the girls' 4x100 relay. Mtn View was 3rd in the boys' SMR and 4x800 relay.
