The Upton boys basketball team has qualified for the state tournament for 11 years in a row and finally won a state championship on Thursday in Casper with a convincing 69-54 win over Saratoga for the 1A title. Upton's first year of basketball was way back in 1932 but recently, the Bobcats have posted 4 straight seasons of 20 or more wins and 7 seasons in the last 8 with 20+ victories.

The Cats were sound on both ends of the floor and it was a well-earned victory. After the contest, we caught up with Luca Brooks who was fantastic with 30 points and sharpshooting Jess Claycomb. Their coach, Joe Samuelson added some perspective on how the team finally got to the promised land.  Take a look.
