Luca Brooks of Upton will take his marvelous basketball skill set to Billings, Montana to play for Rocky Mountain College. Brooks led his Upton team to back-to-back 1A state championships and in his 3-year career, the Bobcats were 71-5. He's also a 3-time all-state selection and averaged 19 points a game in the 2021-22 season and shot 51% from the floor. He also led 1A in assists and steals. His season-high as a senior was a 34-point effort against Saratoga and a 29-point game against Faith, South Dakota.

In his junior year, Brooks averaged 19 points a game shooting 52% from the floor, and once again led 1A in assists and steals. He was equally effective in his sophomore year throwing in 18 points game, shooting 49% from the field.

Brooks has outstanding speed and that helped him on the football field in 2021 as he caught 29 balls as a receiver for 593 yards with 13 touchdowns.  He also competes in track and field in the sprints and jumping events. At the recent Queen City meet in Spearfish, South Dakota, Brooks placed 3rd in the 200 with a PR of 23.84. He placed 9th in the high jump clearing 5-8.

Rocky Mountain College is an NAIA school that competes in the Frontier Conference. The Battlin' Bears went 11-17 in the 2021-22 season.
