Cokeville Surges Late to Win 1A Thriller and Return to the Top [VIDEO]

After surviving a five-set thriller in a No. 1 versus No. 2 showdown, the Cokeville Panthers returned to the top of 1A volleyball with a state championship on November 8 in Casper. Cokeville outlasted conference rival Little Snake River, 25-27, 25-21, 23-25, 25-18, and 15-9. The Panthers won their sixth title in the last nine seasons and 27th in school history.

Senior Addison Barnes had 32 kills and 35 digs to pace Cokeville. She added five service aces. Senior setter Madilyn Dayton had a double-double, as well, with 59 assists and 12 digs. Other contributors included senior Mia Dayton with 10 kills and 37 digs. Sophomore Ainslie Himmerich had nine kills, 44 digs, and eight blocks. Freshman Presli Pope added six kills and 10 blocks.

Two seniors were very happy to win another volleyball crown

WyoPreps visited with seniors Madilyn Dayton and Rachel Thomas after the victory in a raucous Ford Wyoming Center. The duo said they had to dig deep to pull out the state championship; their defense was the biggest key; knowing LSR was a difference; and they’re proud to add another title to the wall in Cokeville.

The Panthers finished the 2025 season with an overall record of 24-13. Little Snake River wrapped up its season at 31-4.
