White Dominates the Court, Johnson Leads the Charge as WyoPreps Athletes of the Week

Standouts on the volleyball court and football field were chosen as the WyoPreps Athlete of the Week award winners. The latest winners were Pinedale senior Alyxis White and Jackson senior Grant Johnson. White’s play helped the Wranglers to a perfect week on the volleyball court. Johnson excelled on the gridiron and led the Broncos to a conference victory. WyoPreps reviewed performances from the competition week of September 29 through October 4, 2025, and selected these two student-athletes. Previous weeks are not part of the decision.

WYOPREPS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK WINNERS 10-8-25

Girls’ Winner

White led Pinedale to three victories, including a conference win at home over 3A West foe Lyman. White had 45 kills and hit over .300 in all three matches. She added four service aces, four total blocks, and 29 digs. White also had only one serve receive error in 30 total chances. The Wranglers won at 4A Rock Springs, swept Sublette County rival Big Piney, and swept the Eagles to finish last week at 3-0. Pinedale improved to 15-8-1 on the season and 2-1 in conference action, which is tied for third.

Boys’ Winner

Johnson helped Jackson rally for a 36-32 conference victory. Last Friday night, he threw for 405 yards and five TDs in the win. Johnson went 29-41, completed over 70 percent of his passes, and averaged 14 yards per completion. All of them were career-bests. Jackson improved to 4-2 on the season and 1-1 in the 3A West Conference with the victory.

WyoPreps caught up with Grant and discussed last Friday’s performance. He assessed how he played, described what it took to come back and win that game, where he’s grown the most as a QB, his teammates, and more.
