No Upsets, Big Statements: Wyoming’s Top Teams Tighten Grip in Week 5

Now that the second half of the high school football season is underway, Wyoming teams are jockeying for playoff positioning. In Week 5, the six ranked games saw the higher-ranked team prevail. It was another week with no upsets of teams in our top five by unranked foes. Sheridan and Star Valley extended their respective streaks to 49 and 27, respectively. The Broncs have tied the record for most consecutive home victories at 31 in a row. In 2A, No. 3 Thermopolis got its first win over fifth-rated Cokeville in six tries, and it was on the road. In 3A, Lander defeated Douglas for the first time in six years and only the second time in the last 19 meetings. Finally, from 9-man, No. 2 Greybull took the lead in the West Conference with a hard-fought win at third-ranked Big Piney, 20-14. This standings update includes all games played through October 4, 2025.

The number of undefeated teams remains at 12. One winless team, Lyman, got its first win of 2025 in Week 5. With conference play in full swing, there was plenty of movement in the standings.
