Greybull’s Wyatt Whaley Hits 1,000-Assists Mark, Powers Buffs’ Title Run

Greybull junior setter Wyatt Whaley reached the 1,000-assist milestone earlier this season. Whaley runs the offense for the 21-9 Buffs, who won the regular season title in the 2A Northwest Conference, and won the 2A West Regional championship last weekend in Lander. She has 748 assists in the 2025 high school season and is averaging nine assists per set.

Whaley also has 15 kills, 33 total blocks, and 130 digs this year. The second-year starter is quickly approaching 1,500 career assists. Whaley was an all-conference selection in 2024 and finished with 608 assists last fall.

She also plays basketball and participates in track and field at GHS. Whaley appeared in 24 games for the Buffs last winter on the basketball court. She is a two-time state qualifier for the outdoor state track championships as a thrower.  Whaley took second in the 2A shot put and third in the discus at last May’s state championships.
