
Tongue River’s McKinlee Scammon Picks Volleyball at Northwest College
McKinlee Scammon from Tongue River has signed with Northwest College in Powell for volleyball. Scammon was a two-time all-state and all-conference selection and a three-year varsity starter for the Eagles. She led TRHS to a runner-up finish in Class 2A during the 2024 volleyball season and was part of two more third-place finishes at the volleyball state tournament.
Scammon had 355 kills, 268 digs, and 42 service aces last fall. McKinlee added 23 assists and eight total blocks. She led Tongue River to an overall record of 26-5-4. The Eagles also took second in the 2A East Conference and at the 2A East Regional Tournament.
In 2023, Scammon finished with 359 kills, 270 digs, and 45 service aces. She added 24 assists and ten total blocks. That year, the Eagles went 20-12-4 and took third in conference, regionals, and at the state tournament.
In her sophomore season of 2022, Scammon had 210 kills, 225 digs, and 29 service aces. She contributed 22 assists and 12 total blocks. Tongue River went 17-18-1 and finished third at the state tournament.
McKinlee was chosen to play for the North Team in the Wyoming Coaches Association North-South All-Star Volleyball Game next month in Casper.

Scammon also played basketball and participated in track and field at TRHS. She helped the Eagles win two Class 2A basketball state championships over the last two seasons. McKinlee was an all-state pick in 2025 and a three-time all-conference selection. In the 2024-25 season, Scammon averaged 10.2 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. In track and field, she qualified for the 2025 outdoor championships and took third in the 2A triple jump.
The Northwest College Trappers are in Powell. They compete in Region IX at the NJCAA level.
