Lander senior Demi Stauffenberg joined the 1,000-point club last Saturday in the Tigers’ overtime victory against Mountain View.

She reached the milestone on a three-pointer early in the first quarter of the game.

Stauffenberg is a two-time all-state and three-time all-conference selection in her basketball career. During this senior season, she’s averaging 11.1 points and 8.4 rebounds per game while shooting 42 percent from the floor. Stauffenberg has helped Lander to a 12-3 overall record and a 3-0 mark in conference quadrant games in the 3A Northwest.

Last year as a junior, Demi led Lander to a 17-6 record and a berth in the 3A girls' state basketball tournament. She averaged 13 points and 10.4 rebounds per game. Stauffenberg shot 39 percent from the field.

As a sophomore, she averaged 10 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. She helped the Tigers to an overall record of 18-7 and a berth in the 3A state basketball tournament. Stauffenberg averaged 11.2 points and 7.7 rebounds per game as a freshman and earned all-conference honors.

Stauffenberg also starred in volleyball at Lander Valley High School. She was a four-time all-state selection in volleyball and signed to play college volleyball at Laramie County Community College (LCCC) in Cheyenne back in December 2021.
