Worland and Cheyenne Central Boys Soccer Teams Finished in the Top 25 Rankings
The United Soccer Coaches’ final poll for the spring boys’ soccer season in 2023 included two teams from Wyoming.
The 3A state champion Worland Warriors were tied for No. 14 with Santa Fe South from Oklahoma City, OK. The Warriors were not ranked in the previous top-25 poll. Worland went 15-0-1 in the 2023 season and won their fifth straight Class 3A state championship. The Warriors have gone 80 consecutive matches without a loss.
The other team in the final top-25 rankings was the Cheyenne Central Indians. The 4A runner-up went 16-3 during the 2023 season. Central was tied for No. 21 with Columbia River High School from Vancouver, WA. The Indians climbed one spot from the previous rankings.
Those two schools finished in the top-5 of the final Region III poll from the United Soccer Coaches. Worland was third in the region’s top 10. The Indians were fourth. They were joined by Kelly Walsh (16-2) at No. 7 and Jackson (15-4) at No 10.
No girls’ soccer teams from Wyoming were in the national top-25 or the Region V top 10 final polls.
