After a two-year absence, the Worland girls basketball team returned to the state tournament and went 2-1 to take 3rd place in class 3A. The Warriors began tournament play with a 47-28 win over Torrington as Brooke Wright led the team in scoring with 14 points, Tymberlynn Crippen added 13, and Darla Hernandez 12.

Worland did lose to Lyman in the 3A semi-finals 45-41 as they had a rough outing shooting the basketball. Crippen had 16 to lead the Warriors and Denali Jones pulled down 10 rebounds but the team as a whole made just 5 field goals in the first half.

The Warriors did finish the season on a positive note with a 45-36 win over Lander to finish 17-6. Jones and Hernandez had 14 points each as Worland took charge in the 2nd half. This was a team that had some serious athletic talent as Hernadez was named all-state for the 2nd straight year. She averaged 14 points and 10 rebounds per game. Denali Jones was selected as an all-conference player, averaging 10 points a game, and the same went for Tymberlynn Crippen. All three of those players were seniors so there is going to be some rebuilding for 2021-22. We have some video to share of the Warriors at the state tournament. Enjoy!
