The Thermopolis boys basketball team had quite a run this season in fact, it was just the 2nd winning season for the program since 2010. This team rang up 25 wins and just 4 losses including a resounding 61-39 win over Pine Bluffs for the 2A Championship on Saturday in Casper. Both of these teams finished 3rd in their respective regional tournaments and found a way to make it to the final round.

The Bobcats led by 6 after the 1st quarter and by 11 at halftime so they're defense was stout right off the bat. The Thermopolis offense was clicking too as they shot 51% from the field for the game and 55% in the 2nd half. Four guys were in double figures in the game, led by Brody Potter with 18, Zak Hastie with 13, with Cody Bomengen and Del Dukes chipping in a dozen apiece. Thermopolis drove the ball to the basket repeatedly and had a decided edge on the backboards.

Pine Bluffs received 16 points from Carten Freeburg but the Hornets as a group struggled from the field at a 32% clip. Shawn Shmidl contributed 8 points and 9 rebounds as Pine Bluffs finished the season at 17-12.
