
PhotoFest: Laramie Sweeps Thunder Basin in 4A Basketball
On Saturday in 4A Boys Basketball, a pair of top 5 teams locked horns as #2 Laramie played host to #4 Thunder Basin. Laramie came out smokin' and led the game by 13 after one-quarter of play only to watch Thunder Basin get back into the game and narrowly lose 61-59. Laramie improved to 13-4 overall and 5-2 in 4A East play and was led in scoring by Max Alexander and Jaden Smith who tossed in 17 points apiece.
Thunder Basin ended the weekend at 10-6 overall and 5-3 in league play thanks to an 82-53 win over Cheyenne South. The Bolts feature the leading scorer in 4A in Gibby Williams, averaging 19.6 points per game.
In the girls' game on Saturday, Laramie posted a 63-50 win over Thunder Basin, their first win in a while, after losing 5 straight. Laramie had 3 players in double figures, Carson Milam, Sammie Mathews, and Ava Krueger. Milam has been averaging 9 points a game this season and Krueger is averaging 7. The Plainsmen advance to 9-8 overall and 2-5 in the 4A East.
Thunder Basin split their weekend games with a 59-21 victory over Cheyenne South so the Bolts sit at 7-9 overall and 3-5 in conference play. They have been led in scoring this year by Addie Rouse with 12 a game with Allie Rodgers averaging 8.
