PhotoFest! Southeast Repeats as 1A Girls Basketball Champions
Southeast entered the 1A Girls State Tournament as the #1 seed from the East but entered the 1A East Regional as the #3 seed. The Cyclones reeled off 6 straight wins in the postseason, including a 36-29 victory over Cokeville on Saturday in Casper to win the coveted State Championship.
The game didn't start out very well for Southeast as they trailed by as many as 10 points in the first half. The Cyclones turned the game around in the 3rd quarter, outscoring Cokeville 15-3 and held on in the 4th quarter to finish the season 19-10. That's back to back State Championships for this program and they were led in scoring on Saturday by Anna Hartman with 10 points, with Kaycee Kosmicki and Keana Llewellyn chipping in 7 apiece. The Cyclones were 19-10 this season.
Cokeville has missed the 1A State Tournament just once since 2009 and was paced by Addison Barnes with 9 and Rachel Thomas with 7. The Panthers finished the year with a mark of 21-7. We have a batch of photos to share with you from that 1A Girls Championship game at the Ford Center in Casper. You can find them in our gallery below. Enjoy!
