The coaches/media rankings are for the regular season, which has now ended.

In the final 4A boys rankings, we think the voters were more guided by seeding at the regional tournaments, than they were recent wins and losses. Laramie won both of their games last week, but didn't get the #1 East seed, hence they fell to #2, while Cheyenne Central, who lost to Laramie last week, moves back up to #1. Rock Springs is the #1 seed in the west regional tournament, and claim the final #3 ranking, while Campbell County drops one spot to #4, and Kelly Walsh is back in at #5.

There's no change in final 3A boys rankings. #1 Lander and #2 Riverton officially battled to a draw earlier this week, although the Tigers unofficially prevailed in a shootout. Torrington and Worland retain their #3 and #4 spots, and Cody the same at #5, despite losing home vs. unranked Star Valley last week. The Braves didn't get enough votes to pass the Broncs.

The final 4A Girls rankings see 4 East teams in the top 4 spots again, followed by 1 west team. The top 4 are in the same order as the East Regional Tournament...Campbell County, Cheyenne East, Laramie and Cheyenne Central. Kelly Walsh, the top seed in the west regional tournament is #5. When the state tournament comes around, can the East sweep the West in the first round for the 8th straight year? Or will a West team finally break through?

There's little change in the final 3A Girls rankings, but there was one interesting thing of note. Star Valley knocked Cody off of their undefeated perch, but the Fillies are still #1 and the Lady Braves are #2. All of the media first place votes went to SV, while all of the coaches first place votes went to Cody. Buffalo moves into a tie for #3 with Worland, after clobbering the Lady Warriors in the regular season finale, while Douglas stays put at #5.

Disclaimer: The rankings have no official say on post-season positioning, and are only to be used as a measuring stick on the regular season. Please don't read too much into the rankings.
