Last week was a good week to impress those that vote in the coaches/media rankings, because if Mother Nature has her way this coming weekend, teams may not have many opportunities to get games in.

Cheyenne East and Gillette remain on top of the 4A rankings. Both teams will be heading out of state this weekend. Rock Springs was arguably the most impressive team on opening weekend. The Lady Tigers are ranked #3 and will have a pretty tough schedule this weekend, hosting 3 of the top 5 3A teams...including 2 games on Saturday. Laramie also impressed the voters and are ranked #4, by 1 vote behind RS. The Lady Plainsmen are off until after the Christmas Holiday. Deciding which team is #5 was a bit difficult, however Cheyenne Central was able to hang on to that spot.

In the 3A rankings, Star Valley received the most 1st place votes, however not every voter put the Lady Braves in the top 5, largely because the team didn't play last week. Douglas ended up getting more votes overall and claims the #1 ranking this week. SV will face some good 4A competition this weekend at the Flaming Gorge Classic at Green River and Rock Springs. #3 Rawlins will be at GR and RS as well. The Lady Outlaws had a very good opening weekend, and got into the top 5 as a result. Defending champ Worland drops a couple spots to #4, while Powell retains their #5 ranking. The Lady Panthers have the weekend off.

For now, it's Pine Bluffs and everyone else in the 2A rankings. The defending champs are the unanimous #1 ranked team. Most of the 2A action will be at Big Horn this weekend, especially on Saturday, when the #3 Lady Rams host #2 Wyoming Indian, weather permitting travel. #4 Lovell will take on some 3A competition this weekend at Douglas, while #5 Sundance will take their undefeated record into South Dakota.

Three of the top 5 teams in 1A teams will be in one place, while the other 2 will be in another. #1 Encampment, #3 St. Stephens will both play at #5 Lingle-Ft. Laramie, provided they can make the road trip. Meanwhile, #2 Little Snake River and #4 Farson-Eden will be taking on competition at Shoshoni.
