Last week was a busy week for the big schools in the coaches/media rankings, now it's time for the small schools to do the same in the playoffs.

Seeding for the 4A regional tournaments are close to being set, unless you are a team in the west not named Natrona. The Fillies continue to rank #3, behind unanimous #1 and #2 Gillette and Cheyenne East, with Laramie not far behind them at #4. Kelly Walsh is back at #5 this week, but that ranking hasn't meant much over the course of the past few weeks, because whichever team holds that ranking, usually ends up losing. The Lady Trojans have a chance at home this weekend to try to secure the west #2 seed for the regional tournament and secure a bid to the state tournament, if they can get by Rock Springs and Green River.

As usual, Douglas is still on top of 3A. The unanimous #1 and undefeated Lady Bearcats went back and forth on the road last week with #2 Worland, and pulled out a hard fought 1-point win. As a result of that close game, the Lady Warriors maintain their #2 ranking. Elsewhere, last weekend's results from the southwest caused some movement in the rankings. Mountain View moves up to #3, after sweeping #4 Star Valley. #5 Lyman was unable to do the same, but could pull off a sweep of MV, if they can win their home finale on Thursday.

For Class 2A and 1A, these are the final rankings of the season.

The regional tournaments will be interesting. The top 2 ranked teams in 2A will be at one tournament, while #3, #4 and #5 will be at the other. Unanimous #1 Pine Bluffs, and #2 Big Horn have 2 other opponents to deal with, before they can battle each other on Saturday. Meanwhile, #3 Wyoming Indian has scores to settle with both #4 Rocky Mountain and #5 Greybull, and should get their chances barring an unforeseen upset.

Four of the top 5 ranked teams in 1A will be at the West Regional Tournament in Lander, where an upset or two, could cause them to miss the state tournament. St. Stephens is back on top, after now #2 Little Snake River won vs. former #1, now #3 Farson-Eden last week. The loss didn't mean much to the Lady Pronghorns, because they already had the top seed in the west for the regional tournament locked up. Plus SS and LSR are on the other side of the bracket. #5 Encampment will be at same tournament as well, while #4 Lingle-Ft. Laramie will be the team to beat at the East Regional Tournament.
