The indoor track season has passed its midway point. That means teams are starting to fine-tune which events athletes will be competing in.

Most schools are split between Sheridan's meet in Gillette on Friday and Natrona's meet on Saturday in Casper. A few schools send individuals to a distance-only event in Utah. Star Valley heads to Idaho for a meet at Idaho State University on Saturday.

This is the schedule for the fifth weekend of indoor track. Schedules are subject to change.

Friday, Feb. 10:

Broncs Invitational (hosted by Sheridan in Gillette) at the Campbell County Recreation Center Fieldhouse: Field Events start at 10 a.m. & Track Events start at 11:30 a.m.

Teams Attending: Big Horn, Buffalo, Campbell County, Cody, Elite Solutions Academy (Casper), Powell, Sheridan, Thunder Basin, Tongue River, Torrington.

Cody's Matt Nelson won the top 3 sprinting events, the 55, 200, & 400 meters. No girls' competitor won more than 1 event.

REP Distance Challenge at Olympic Ice Oval in Kearns, UT: Track Events only (400m and up); starts at 3:30 p.m.

Teams Attending: Mountain View, Rawlins.

Rawlins senior Ryann Smith took 3rd in the 1600 meters and 6th in the 3200 meters. 

Saturday, Feb. 11:

Mustang Invite 2023 at Natrona MAC: Events start at 10 a.m.

Teams Attending: Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Cheyenne South, Douglas, Glenrock, Green River, Kelly Walsh, Lander, Laramie, Lovell, Natrona County, Pinedale, Rawlins, Riverton, Rock Springs, Worland.

Ella Spear of NC won the 200 & 400 meters. Gage Gose of Lander won the 55-meters, 400-meters, and 55-meter hurdles.

No team scores were kept.

ISU HS Open Holt Arena at Idaho State Univ. in Pocatello, ID: Field Events start at 8:30 a.m.; Track Events start at 9:30 a.m.

Teams Attending: Evanston, Star Valley.

Valerie Jirak of Star Valley won the high jump (5-2) and long jump (16-5.25) and was 2nd with a school record in the 200-meters (25.80). Ava Morgan of Star Valley won the 60-meter hurdles (10.03) and triple jump 35-11.50). The SV girls won the 4x200-meter relay. Evanston won the 4x400-meter relay.

Evanston's Gabe Hutchison won the 400-meters (51.57) and was 2nd in the 60-meters. The Red Devils won the 4x200-meter relay and 4x400-meter relay. Bo Simpson of Star Valley won the long jump (19-3). Colt Sotelo of SV won the weight throw at 48-10.
