It’s week six of the outdoor track season, which means there are three weeks left in the regular season.

The regional meets and the state championships are drawing closer and closer.

There are track duals, invites, and a throwers-only meet. The meets are scheduled for Tuesday through Saturday. Afton, Buffalo, Casper, Cheyenne, Douglas, Green River, Kemmerer, Lander, Lovell, Pine Bluffs, Rawlins, and Sheridan. That’s 13 in-state track meets this week.

A handful of teams are competing in Idaho, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Utah.

TUESDAY, APRIL 19:

Bearcat-Bison Dual at Douglas HS – Buffalo, Douglas

Girls: Buffalo 115 Douglas 31

Boys: Douglas 86 Buffalo 59

Lander Twilight at Lander HS – Big Piney, Lander, Riverton, Shoshoni, Thermopolis, Western Heritage Lutheran Academy, Wyoming Indian

The Lander girls (220 pts) and Riverton boys (188 pts) won the team titles.

Big Piney's Shelby Guest swept the girls' hurdle races. Lander's Abigail Gribowskas won the 400-meters & long jump.

Riverton's Tristan Watkins won the 100 & 200 meters. His teammate Kaden Chatfield won the 800 & 1600 meters. Riverton's Watie Whiteplume won the high jump & triple jump. Nathan Mills won the shot put and discus.

Laramie County Throw Off at Cheyenne East HS – Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Cheyenne South, Pine Bluffs

Pine Bluff's Monse Serrano won the shot put. Her teammate Jessica Hoffman won the discus. Central's Keagan Bartlett won the shot put, while teammate Auggie Lain won the discus.

Natrona County-Kelly Walsh Dual at Kelly Walsh HS

Girls: Kelly Walsh 82 Natrona County 59

Boys: Kelly Walsh 68 Natrona County 68

Out-of-State events:

Rapid City’s Track-O-Rama Nation in Rapid City, SD – Campbell County, Moorcroft, Natrona County, Newcastle, Sheridan, Sundance, Thunder Basin

The Sheridan boys won the team title with 236 points. Thunder Basin's girls took 2nd with 204 points.

Girls: Friedly on TBHS won the girls' 100 meters. Rylee Brandon of TBHS won the 800 meters. NC's Ashley Gross won the 1600 meters. NC's Ally Wheeler won the 3200 meters. TB's Gabby Mendoza captured the 300 hurdles. Thunder Basin's girls won the 4x100, 4x400, and 4x800 relays. Sheridan's Nora Butler won the shot put. Bailey Hofland took 1st in the discus. Sheridan's Dulce Carroll won the high jump.

Boys: TB's Kayden LaFramboise won the 400 meters & high jump. Sheridan's Reese Charest won the 800 meters. NC's Jackson Dutcher won the 1600 meters. TB's Steven Mansheim won the 110 hurdles. Sheridan won the 4x400 relay. Sheridan's Texas Tanner finished 1st in the shot put. Ryan Karajanis won the pole vault. 

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 20:

Dave Draney Memorial at Star Valley HS in Afton – Cokeville, Evanston, Jackson, Kemmerer, Lyman, Mountain View, Star Valley, Bear Lake (ID), Malad (ID), Soda Springs (ID), Sugar-Salem (ID)

Team scores were not listed.

Star Valley's Sara McKen was the only double event winner from Wyoming on the girls' side in the 100 & 200 meters.

Kemmerer's Owen Burnett won the 1600 & 3200 meters on the boys' side. Gabe Hutchinson of Evanston took 1st place in the 400 meters & long jump.

THURSDAY, APRIL 21:

Dan Hansen Invitational at Sheridan HS – Big Horn, Buffalo, Campbell County, Cody, Kaycee, Powell, Sheridan, Thunder Basin, Tongue River, Spearfish (SD), Lodge Grass (MT)

No team scores are listed.

Girls: Sheridan's Addie Pendergast won 3 events, the 100, 200, & 400 meters. Her teammate Preslee Moser won the high jump & triple jump. Thunder Basin's Gabby Mendoza swept the hurdle races.

Boys: Thunder Basin's Steven Mansheim won both hurdle races. Cody's Luke Talich captured 1st in the 100 meters & long jump. Sheridan's Texas Tanner won both throwing events.

Lovell HS Invitational – Burlington, Ft. Washakie, Greybull, Lovell, Meeteetse, Powell, Riverside, Rocky Mountain, Western Heritage Lutheran Academy, Worland

The Powell girls and Worland boys finished 1st in the team standings.

Girls: Jenna Hillman from Powell won the 100 & 400 meters. Worland's Zena Tapia the 2 long-distance races.

Boys: Clayton Edwards of Burlington won the 100 & 200 meters. Riverside's Ryan Hoyt won the 1600 & 3200 meters. Worland's Aaron Carver won both hurdle events. Worland also swept all 4 relays. Lovell's Quinn Lindsay captured both throwing events.

Out-of-State events:

Custer Invitational at Custer, SD – Hulett, Upton

Maddie Mills of Upton won the girls' triple jump. Reece Barritt from Upton took 1st in the 400 meters. Upton's Luca Brooks won the high jump & triple jump.

FRIDAY, APRIL 22:

Douglas Invitational at Douglas HS – Buffalo, Cheyenne South, Douglas, Glenrock, Kaycee, Midwest, Moorcroft, Newcastle, Riverton, Shoshoni, Sundance, Thermopolis, Wheatland, Wright

The meet was suspended after the girls' 3200 meters due to lightning. Did not finish.

GRHS Track and Field Invite at Green River HS – Big Piney, Evanston, Farson-Eden, Green River, Jackson, Kemmerer, Pinedale, Wind River

Only Partial results as the track meet ended early due to the weather.

George Calvert Invite at Mitchell, NE - Lingle-Ft. Laramie

Both Lingle teams took 2nd place.

Girls: Maddy Saul won the 200 meters. Lingle won the 4x100 & 4x400 relays.

Boys: Slade Hopkins took 1st in the 200 meters. Kyland Fuller won the 400 & 800 meters. Myles Wilson won the 1600 meters. Loudon Bremer captured the 300 hurdles crown. Doggers won the 4x400 relay. Boyd Oliver took the discus title. 

Scottsbluff Twilight Invite at Scottsbluff, NE – Campbell County, Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Torrington

Cheyenne Central won both team titles.

East's Marik Cummings set a new school record of 10.62 in the 100 meters. Broke the mark that had stood since 1993.

SATURDAY, APRIL 23:

Kemmerer HS Track Invite – postponed to Monday, April 25

Out-of-State events:

2022 Morgan Trojan Invitational at Morgan HS (UT) – Mountain View

Mtn. View girls took 3rd and boys 5th.

Girls = Jaylee Antonino won the 100 hurdles & 2nd in 300 hurdles; Katie Giorgis won the 300 hurdles; Myra Hutchings won the high jump.

Boys = Tanner Erickson won the 1600 meters.

Sky View Invitational at Sky View HS in Smithfield, UT – Cokeville

Girls were 10th, while the boys placed 8th. Tanner Brown won the 110 hurdles.
