Cheyenne East and Wheatland hooked up for a softball doubleheader on Monday in Wheatland, with East coming away with a sweep in that deal. In the first game, East scored 7 runs over the 3rd and 4th innings with Madlyn Artery having a sensational game at the plate, going 4-5 with 3 RBIs and a home run. Paislee Olson also went 4-5 with 3 runs batted in, and Rylee Stephenson was great in the circle with 14 strikeouts.

In the 2nd game, East jumped out to a 16-0 lead and went on to win 19-4. McKenzie Millar of the Thunderbirds homered, tripled, and drove in 6 runs, while Brooklyn Lake doubled twice and had 3 RBIs. Cheyenne East improved to 8-0 and Wheatland fell to 6-3.

East will be on the road in Laramie on Friday, while Wheatland makes the Sweetwater County swing at Rock Springs and Green River on Saturday. We have some images to pass along from the East-Wheatland softball event, courtesy of Randy Bell. You can find those in our gallery below. Enjoy!
