Dylan Sorensen of KW Inks with Northwest College for Wrestling
Kelly Walsh's Dylan Sorensen displayed some top-tier ability this past season with a runner-up finish at the 4A State Wrestling Tournament at 120 pounds and earning All-American status at the National High School Coaches Tournament in Virginia Beach. He will be headed to Northwest College in Powell to further his athletic journey, and the NWC coaching staff has been keeping an eye on him for quite some time.
At the 2025 State Wrestling Tournament in Casper, Sorensen lost a grueling 4-2 decision to Kimball Perry from Star Valley in the 120-pound final. Ironically, Sorensen beat Perry for 3rd place at the prestigious Ron Thon Tournament in Riverton. He finished his senior season with a record of 43-7.
Then later in the spring, Sorensen took 6th place at the High School Nationals in Virginia Beach, and that earned him All-American status. That's an extraordinary accomplishment considering the talent level in Virginia Beach.
As a junior for the Trojans, Sorensen placed 4th at 120 pounds at the 4A State Tournament and wrapped up the season with a mark of 18-7. He went 30-4 in 2023 with a 3rd place finish at State at 106 pounds and also won the Ron Thon Tournament in that weight class. So that's a pretty good season.
Northwest College is a junior college that placed 7th at the 2025 NJCAA National Tournament.
