Pinedale has enjoyed substantial success in girls wrestling throughout the last two seasons with McKinzie Mortensen and Kaylea Mortensen return as defending State Champions. Both of these ladies went unbeaten at last week's Casper Tournament.

McKinzie has a pair of State Titles to her credit with a 27-0 season as a freshman at 100 pounds and a 33-0 season at 100 pounds in her sophomore season. In those two State Tournaments, she recorded a combined 8 pins in 8 matches. She has moved up to 105 this year and won all 3 of her matches in Casper and also won the prestigious Utah Tournament of Champions in Vernal earlier this month at 105.

Kaylea won the State Championship a year ago as a sophomore at 105 pounds going 33-2 with 4 pins in the State Tournament. She placed 4th as a freshman at 105 at State going 21-7. In Casper this past week, she went 6-0 on the mat with 5 falls at 115 pounds.

These 2 wrestlers have a super-bright future ahead of them and we caught up with Kaylea and McKinzie at the Casper Tournament.
