Wyoming HS Softball State Tournament 2023 Day 2 Recap
Thunder Basin is back in the title game after defeating Cheyenne East, 9-7 in 8 innings, on Friday at the state softball tournament in Gillette.
The Thunderbirds jumped out to an early lead off Aleah Brooks' 3-run home run in the first inning. Thunder Basin tied it up at 4-4 with a pair of RBI doubles in the sixth inning. No one scored in the seventh, so the game went to extra innings. The T-Birds mounted a come-back by scoring on Brooks' RBI double, a ground-out, and an RBI single by McKenzie Millar, but the rally fell short.
