With plenty of excitement surrounding the team, the Green River Wolves want to take a step forward with the start of the 2023-24 season.

Last season was a struggle for the Wolves. They went just 3-19 on the season and 0-6 in conference quadrant games. Green River was 0-2 at the 4A West Regional tournament.

This year sees five players returning for Coach Laurie Ivie. Leading that charge are seniors Theran Archibald and Chris Wilson. Archibald was the No. 4 scorer in Class 4A last season at 16.2 points per game. Wilson added 10.6 points per game. Those two are expected to lead the way into a new season.

The two seniors and Coach Ivie spoke to WyoPreps during our Preseason Basketball Tour last week about how preparation for the new season is going, what the focus has been, how they find more success this season compared to last season, and so much more.

After qualifying for the state tournament for three straight years in 2019, 2020, and 2021, Green River failed to make it to Casper in the last two years. They would love to change that narrative.

The Wolves open at the Oil City Tip-off in Casper against Cheyenne South, Laramie, and Natrona County this weekend.
