The Encampment Tigers have been one of the final four teams over the last two seasons. They’d love to take the next step in 2023.

Encampment was the ninth and final stop on our preseason football tour last Monday. WyoPreps acquired some knowledge on the Tigers, who compete in Class 1A 6-Man.

The WyoPreps Preseason Football Tour returned for another year. It allowed us to visit with players and coaches from various programs ahead of the new season.

This year’s tour kept us closer to home, as we roamed through the southeast portion of the state.

WyoPreps spoke to seniors Kaben Pickett, Quade Jordan, and Ryon Miller about the new season. We discussed how practice has gone, some of their senior aspirations, what they love about football, the keys to having a successful season, and more.

We also visited with fifth-year Encampment head coach Kegan Willford. He touched on the foundation of the program, the experience they return, how that will lend to success, how the 6-man division looks this year, and more.

The Tigers were 6-3 in the 2022 season. They lost to eventual state champion Little Snake River in the semifinals, 71-8, last November.

Encampment starts with an added game in Week 1 at the Natrona County Sophomores on Aug. 31.
