When it comes to boys' soccer, the Worland Warriors winning ways just keep continuing.

After a 6-0 win by the top-ranked 3A boys’ team on Tuesday, Worland has won 53 consecutive boys soccer matches.

The Warriors are the team to beat every time they take the pitch, and they know it. Still, they’ve found various ways to win matches, no matter the obstacle. Even a snowstorm last Thursday in Cody wasn’t enough to slow them down.

WyoPreps had a lengthy chat with Worland coach Ron Overcast about his team and how they continue to focus on one match at a time and not get caught up in you know what. Coach Overcast discussed this year's team, their focus, the match at Cody, what they teach, joked about what’s in the water in Worland, and more.

The current players on the roster have never experienced a loss in their prep soccer career. Yes, you can insert the jinx here.

Senior Jorey Anderson and junior Court Gonsalez visited with WyoPreps the day after their victory in the snow at Cody. Jorey said it reminded him about playing conditions when he was younger. Both Jorey and Court talked about what the Warriors have going, how well they work together, what practice is like, playing for Coach Overcast, and some fun items.

Through the match on April 14, 2022, Gonsalez has four goals and nine assists, while Anderson has one goal.

After the victory over No. 4 Lander earlier this week, Worland has outscored their opponents 37-1 this season. They improved to 7-0 overall and 4-0 in 3A West Conference matches.

The Warriors are the three-time defending 3A boys' state champs. They’ll be looking for a fourth straight in a month down in Cheyenne.
