Rawlins wrestler Zachary Covolo has been a star on the mat for the Outlaws and wants to finish his prep career on a high note, Last week at the Lander Invite, he won the 132-pound title with a pin over Axel Mackinnon from Green River. Covolo is 28-3 this season and is ranked #1 in the 3A 138 pounds by wyowrestling.com.

In his junior season, Covolo captured the 3A state title at 126 pounds with 2 pins, a technical fall, and a major decision in Casper. He recorded 50 wins with 6 losses and took 3rd at 126 in his sophomore season with a record of 29-7 at the 3A level. Covolo started his stellar high school career as a freshman with a 2nd place finish in the 3A 113-pound division. He concluded that season with a mark of 23-2.

The guy has serious ability but improvement is the name of the game. We caught up with him after his 1st match at the Lander Tournament and he started in fine form.
