The 2026 Wyoming High School Regional Softball Championships are in Gillette and Rock Springs on Friday and Saturday. These are eight-team, double-elimination brackets. Two wins and a team advances to the state tournament. Two losses and a team is eliminated. The top four teams will earn a spot at next week’s state championships in Cheyenne. The seeding was based on a team’s conference record and tiebreakers. Last year’s champions were Campbell County and Laramie.

4A NORTH REGIONAL (in Gillette, Hosted by Campbell County)

All games are at the Energy Capital Sports Complex in Gillette.

Thunder Basin earned the NE top seed thanks to a 3-1 record versus Sheridan, while Campbell County went 2-2 against the Broncs. That broke the tie between the two teams, which went 8-4 in conference games and split four against each other.

Friday, May 15:

Final Score: (NW4) Jackson 7 (NE1) Thunder Basin 4 - The Broncs used a 4-run 4th to rally from a 4-3 deficit. Z. Green's RBI single gave Jackson the lead. Morgan's 2-run double provided the final margin. TB had the bases loaded in the bottom of the 7th and did not score. Z. Green had 2 hits & 2 RBIs, while Mann added 3 hits & 2 runs scored for Jackson. Carter had 3 hits, including a triple and a home run, for TB.

Final Score: (NW2) Natrona County 11 (NE3) Sheridan 9 - The Fillies scored 7 runs in the 6th to pull out the victory after trailing 8-4. An error led to the go-ahead run for NC. A dropped 3rd strike, passed ball, allowed 2 more runs to score. Harthun had 3 hits & 1 RBI for NC. Smith added 1 hit & 2 RBIs. Howe had 2 hits (2B) & 2 RBIs for Sheridan.

Final Score: (NE2) Campbell County 24 (NW3) Kelly Walsh 7 - The Camels took control with a 15-run 2nd inning. Simianer had 4 hits (3-2B) & 7 RBIs. Cole added 4 hits & 6 RBIs, and Cone contributed 5 hits & drove in 3 runs.

Final Score: (NW1) Cody 12 (NE4) Worland 2 - The Fillies scored 5 in the 4th and 4 more in the 5th to pull away. H. Lindemann had 3 hits & 3 RBIs, while Teten added 3 hits & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Natrona County 32 Jackson 6 – semifinal; Fillies qualify for state. - Bretz led the way for NC driving in 8 runs on 4 hits including a 2-run HR in the 3rd.

Final Score: Thunder Basin 7 Sheridan 5 – Broncs are eliminated - The Bolts stayed alive thanks to a strong start. TB jumped out to a 7-1 lead and held off Sheridan's comeback attempt. Mannering had 2 hits & 2 RBIs, and Rouse added 1 hit & drove in 2 runs.

Final Score: Cambpell County 6 Cody 4 – semifinal; Camels qualify for state. - The Camels jumped out to a 4-0 lead, then added 2 insurance runs in the 6th and held off the Fillies. Halbrooks had 3 hits & 2 RBIs. C. Lindemann led Cody with 2 hits & 3 RBIs.

Final Score: Kelly Walsh 14 Worland 12 – Warriors are eliminated - A 5-run 5th inning helped the Trojans keep the Warriors at bay. Oster homered among 2 hits & 2 RBIs, and Moore added 2 hits & 2 RBIs. Worland got 2 hits & 2 RBIs from Gallinger, and Glanz contributed 1 hit & 3 RBIs.

Saturday, May 16:

Final Score: Cody 10 Thunder Basin 8 (9 inns.) – Fillies qualify for state; Bolts are eliminated. The Fillies scored 3 in the top of the 9th and held Thunder Basin to 1 run. An error led to 2 runs, while Teten had an RBI double. She finished with 3 hits & 3 RBIs. Rouse had 3 hits & drove in 4 for the Bolts.

Final Score: Kelly Walsh 11 Jackson 10 – Trojans qualify for state; Broncs are eliminated. ln a back-and-forth game, KW scored 3 in the 6th inning to get the win. The Trojans held Jackson to 1 run in the 7th. Weant had 3 hits & 2 RBIs, while Macias added 4 hits for KW. Vetter had 2 hits & drove in 1 run for Jackson.

Final Score: Kelly Walsh 9 Cody 4 – Trojans will be the 3, and Fillies will be the 4 seed. KW broke a 4-4 tie with 5 runs in the top of the 7th inning. They scored on a fielder's choice and three singles. Moore and Sisco had 3 hits & 1 RBI apiece. Cody got 3 hits & 2 runs scored from Teten.

Final Score: Campbell County 14 Natrona County 1 (Championship) – Camels win the 1 seed, and the Fillies will be the 2 at state. The Camels scored 6 runs in the 1st inning to set the tone and added 7 more in the 4th. Cole allowed 1 run on 3 hits with 10 Ks and 1 walk. She went 2-3 at the plate with 3 RBIs. Smith added a 3-run double.

Friday, May 15:

Final Score: (SW1) Laramie 11 (SE4) Torrington 0 - Suloff & Christensen combined on a 3-hit shutout with 5 Ks and 0 walks. Laramie broke it open with a 5 -run 2nd inning. Dean had 2 hits & 3 RBIs, while M. Pearson added 2 hits (2B) & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: (SE2) Cheyenne East 14 (SW3) Green River 2 - It was 3-1 in the 4th, when East scored 4 runs and pulled away with 7 more in their last 2 at-bats. Irwin had 3 hits & 4 RBIs for the T-Birds, including a Grand Slam to walk it off.

Final Score: (SW2) Rock Springs 7 (SE3) Wheatland 1 - The Tigers scored 2 runs on a home run by Anderson in the 1st to take the lead and pulled away. Anderson had 3 hits, including 2 home runs, and 5 RBIs. Wester added 2 hits & 1 RBI. She also got the win in the circle with 13 strikeouts. L. Vaughn had 2 hits & drove in 1 run for the Bulldogs.

Final Score: (SE1) Cheyenne Central 21 (SW4) Cheyenne South 0 - The Indians scored 8 runs in the 1st inning and added 12 more in the 3rd. Erickson had 3 hits, 2 RBIs, and scored 4 times. They took advantage of 10 walks & 8 errors.

Final Score: Cheyenne East 12 Laramie 4 – semifinal; Thunderbirds qualify for state - East used a 3-run 5th inning and 6 more in the 6th to gain control. Grant had 4 hits (2-2B) & 5 RBIs. Hollibaugh added 4 hits & 1 RBI.

Final Score: Torrington 18 Green River 5 – Wolves are eliminated - The Blazers scored 13 runs in the 2nd inning to take control. Jacobson had 3 hits (3B), 2 RBIs, and 3 runs scored. Three teammates added 2 hits & 2 RBIs each.

Final Score: Cheyenne Central 10 Rock Springs 2 – Indians qualify for state - The Indians scored 3 in the 1st to take an early lead and never trailed. They steadily pulled away, as Central scored in 5 of their 6 at-bats. Erickson & Driver had 3 hits & 2 RBIs each. Wester had 3 hits, including 2 doubles & 1 RBI for the Tigers.

Final Score: Wheatland 10 Cheyenne South 0 – Bison are eliminated  - The Bulldogs scored in 4 of their 5 at-bats. L. Vaughn had 3 hits & drove in 5 runs. That included a home run. Adams added 4 hits and 3 runs scored. Vaughn and Meyer combined on a 2-hit shutout in the circle with 7 Ks.

Saturday, May 16:

Final Score: Rock Springs 9 Torrington 0 – Tigers qualify for state; Trailblazers are eliminated. The Tigers had a pair of 4-run innings. Wester tossed a 3-hit shutout with 10 Ks and 1 walk. She also homered, doubled, and drove in 2 runs. McGarvey hit a home run, as well.

Final Score: Wheatland 12 Laramie 7 – Bulldogs qualify for state; Plainsmen are eliminated. Wheatland scored 5 runs in the top of the 7th to break a 7-7 tie. They took advantage of 5 walks and 2 base hits. L. Vaughn had 4 hits and & RBIs.

Final Score: Rock Springs 5 Wheatland 4 – Tigers will be the 3-seed at state, Bulldogs get the 4. The Tigers scored 3 runs in the 3rd and held off Wheatland. An error, a groundout, and an RBI single by Florencio led to those runs. Landri Vaughn hit 2 home runs for the Bulldogs.

Final Score: Cheyenne East 8 Cheyenne Central 4 (Championship) – T-Birds will be the 1 seed from the south at state, Indians get the 2. East pulled away from a 2-2 tie with a 1-run  6th and tacked on 5 more in the 7th. Irwin had 2 doubles and drove in 3 runs for the T-Birds. Grant had a 2-run double and threw out a runner at the plate to end the game.
