The Kemmerer girls basketball team had a rough regular season but scratched and clawed their way into the state tournament with 2 wins in the 2A West regional tournament; beating Greybull and Wind River.

The Rangers started state tournament play with a first-round game against a powerful Pine Bluffs team and lost 50-37. Olivia Nielson was supreme in that game Kemmerer with 17 points and 13 rebounds but overall it was a tough shooting game for the Rangers.

In the consolation round, Kemmerer met Rocky Mountain and this was a competitive game start to finish but the Rangers were eliminated 47-43.  Nielson led the way with 14 points and 11 rebounds, Madelyn Gregory had 13 points and Kinzee Painter chipped in 10.

Gregory and Painter were named all-conference as Gregory averaged 14 points a game. Nielson averaged 7 points and 8 rebounds per contest and she was just a sophomore. All 3 of those players are slated to return for the Rangers in 2020-21 as they'll lose just 3 seniors. This should be a team to watch next season.
