The 4A girls state cross country race was won by Laramies Abigail Whitman with a time of 19.12, easily outdistancing Finley Klinger of Kelly Walsh and Hailie Wilhlem of Natrona. Whitman was the 4A West regional champion and won this event by nearly a half a minute. She also has state championships in track and field in the 800 meters and in nordic skiing so she is a terrific distance athlete. It was a bit cold but the runners didn't complain about that. In the 4A girls teams standings, Natrona won the team championship with a 3-6 finish, Cheyenne Central was 2nd and Jackson 3rd. Here's some video of Saturday's race in Afton. Enjoy
