A Reflection on My Time at WyoPreps
Thank you. It’s that simple.
I can’t believe it has been four years since I took over as the manager at WyoPreps.com.
After I accepted the job to be the new manager of WyoPreps on May 10, 2019, I thought two others would be working with me, but that changed a couple of weeks later. Then, after a few weeks of transitioning out of one role in the company and into this one, four years ago today, is when I came into the office with different responsibilities.
It has been a wonderful four years. WyoPreps has enjoyed some terrific numbers on our site and continues to grow.
I must say it has been a lot of fun for me. When I took this position, it brought me back to my roots of just covering sports, which is why I got into this business.
I still work in radio and still do quite a bit of play-by-play, but WyoPreps is now my focus. Do we do everything the same as before? No. I knew that wouldn’t happen because of other parts of my job.
Has it all been perfect? No. I know we make mistakes, but we’re human. It’s going to happen. I had a typo earlier today. We don’t get to everything. We have to prioritize content, and sometimes we need reminders.
WyoPreps has brought some different content that has worked, while other ideas didn’t pan out. We’re not done with new content ideas, either. This fall, WyoPreps will start an Athlete of the Week feature and announce our own WyoPreps Athlete of the Year Awards in each sport for each gender.
Do we get to everything? No. With a small staff and limitations with my travel due to radio play-by-play, we cover as much as we can in a variety of ways.
In the end, WyoPreps is here because of you. Thank you for sending photos, videos, and signing stories. Thank you for reading our content, and interacting with us on social media.
I love what I do every day and can’t say enough about Wyoming High School sports fans, student-athletes, coaches, and administrators. You’ve all been wonderful to work with.
If you ever have any questions, comments, or corrections, I will take any feedback. You can reach me via email at email@example.com, by phone in the office at 307-343-1438, or send me a message on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram.
Thank you for making WyoPreps what it is today! Now, onto year No. 5.
