The annual Wyoming versus Montana all-star basketball series returns to the court on Friday and Saturday. The first games will be at the Pronghorn Center at Gillette College. The series shifts to Lockwood High School in Billings, MT, on Saturday. The girls’ game starts at 5 p.m., followed by the boys’ game at 7 p.m., both days.

This year is the 49th for the boys’ series and the 28th for the annual girls’ series. They did not play in 2020. Wyoming swept the boys’ series last year for the first time in 13 years. They snapped a 22-game skid in the first game last year, 83-62. Wyoming won the second boys’ game, 94-85. Montana won the girls’ games, 90-68 and 76-35. They have won 15 straight and lead the series 41-13. The Treasure State leads the boys' series 67-29.

Liz Lewis and Shawn Neary, the two head coaches at Gillette College, are the Team Wyoming coaches for a third straight year. WyoPreps spoke to both coaches this week to preview the games. We briefly discussed last year, some lessons they learned, how they put their roster together, what to expect from Montana, and more, in the video at the top of this story.
