Welcome to the 1,000-Point Club: Janae Skidmore of Kemmerer

Kemmerer senior Janae Skidmore surpassed 1,000 career points earlier this season. Skidmore accomplished the feat last month with a free throw against Manila, UT, on Jan. 18, 2025. She celebrated her achievement at the Rangers’ next home game. Skidmore was an all-state selection in the 2023-24 season and has been picked for all-conference the last two years. She is a four-year starter and letter-winner at KHS.

Skidmore averages 15.1 points per game and shoots 37 percent from the field. She leads the 2A West Region in scoring and is third in Class 2A. Janae also ranks in the top 10 of the 2A West in rebounding, steals, and blocks. She averages 6.9 rebounds, 2.6 steals, and 1.2 blocked shots per game. Kemmerer is 4-13 in the 2024-25 season.

Last year, as a junior, Skidmore helped the Rangers to an 11-15 overall record. They placed second at the 2A West Regional Tournament and went 1-2 at the 2A state tournament. Skidmore scored 13.1 points and six rebounds per game. She shot 34 percent from the floor and 67 percent at the charity stripe.

As a sophomore in the 2022-23 season, Janae averaged 13.5 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. She led Kemmerer to a 17-10 record, a third-place finish at the regional tournament, and an appearance at the 2A state tournament. In Skidmore’s freshman season, 2021-22, she averaged 9.3 points and 4.9 rebounds per game on a Rangers’ squad that went 6-17 in Class 3A.

Skidmore also plays volleyball and runs track at Kemmerer High School.
